Fatork Smart Portable Mini Projector Alternatives
Projector/Device | User’s Needs | Why We Think It’s Better |
Xiaoya 5G Portable Projector | Better display quality – 1920 x1080 native resolution, 4K display supported, 350 ANSI lumen output | The Xiaoya 5G portable projector is one of the most sought-after mini projectors together with the Fatork smart portable projector. However, we think the Xiaoya mini projector is better than the Fatork smart projector because it offers a better display quality. The Xiaoya 5G portable projector has a 1920 x 1080 native display resolution with 4K support. It is slightly brighter than the Fatork smart portable mini projector (@ 350 ANSI lumens). Bonus: Besides these features, it is also cheaper than the Fatork smart portable mini projector. |
Anker Nebula Mars II Pro | Brighter ANSI lumen output & better sound quality | The Anker Nebula Mars II Pro is yet another excellent alternative to the Fatork smart mini projector with regard to brighter ANSI lumen output and sound quality. The Fatork smart mini projector delivers 200 ANSI lumens, which is significantly low and can be extremely limiting especially if you intend to use the projector in environmental conditions with uncontrolled ambient lighting. We think that the Anker Nebula Mars II Pro is better because it produces 500 ANSI lumens which is significantly brighter. In addition, its 3W built-in speaker is also quite limited – its sound quality is not that great compared to Anker’s 10W speaker. Design and Build
Earlier at the beginning of this review article, we discussed this mini projector’s sleek and modern design. Its design makes it a versatile device that can be used at home and at the office. Unlike the Anker Nebula Capsule II (which has a cylindrical shape), the Fatork mini projector is rectangular.

This shape, together with the matte black finish, gives the projector an elegant look, enhancing its portability. The device weighs 0.86 lbs (390g), slightly lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro. Its dimensions are also worth mentioning – 4.7’ x 4.7’ x 1.9’ – allowing you to fit it in almost any bag.
Its body is made of high-quality plastic that is durable, reliable, and sturdy with a heat-dissipating design. It is an ingenious design that allows the device not to overheat during prolonged use.
One of the many things that made us fall in love with this projector is its dustproof lens compatibility. A dustproof lens lets you enjoy watching your favorite movies or series without black spots.
Again, unlike the Anker Nebula Capsule II portable projector, the Fatork mini projector has a wider range of I/O ports. It also includes a MicroSD slot which you can use with a memory card of up to 128GB.

This portable projector’s buttons are positioned at the top – which is great because you can easily access them and control the projector. In addition, the projector also comes with a remote control which makes it even easier for you to control it especially if you need to do something quickly, e.g., increase or decrease volume, pause or play music or movies, etc.
The Fatork smart portable mini projector has a single 7,000 mAh lithium battery which can power the device for up to 2.5 hours after a single charge. This duration enables you to finish watching a whole movie or several episodes of your favorite show.
Performance, Picture, and Sound Quality
The Fatork smart portable mini projector uses Android OS, which is great. This operating system lets you quickly set up the projector and download hundreds of free apps from the Play Store.
You can also project copyrighted content, e.g., Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, etc., using Chromecast or a Fire TV stick. Please note that the Fire TV stick is not included in the packaging of this projector – you’ll have to buy it independently.
This mini projector has a decent picture display quality with a native resolution of 854 x 480p and a maximum 1920 x 1080p. It additionally has a contrast ratio of 3,500:1 which is also pretty decent.
Unfortunately, it produces around 200 ANSI lumens which is quite low and can be extremely limiting. You can only use this projector in places with limited ambient light to avoid watching washed-out images.
Luckily, this projector has a throw ratio of 1.4:1, meaning its throw distance is really short.
The Fatork smart portable mini projector also has a 3W built-in speaker that produces decent sound quality. The sound quality may appear strained, especially when the volume is at its loudest.
Generally:
The Fatork smart portable projector is great, considering its size. Its decent image and sound quality display are one of its top-selling points.
Final Thoughts on the Fatork Smart Portable Mini Projector Review
If you are looking for a portable smart projector for office and home use, the Fatork mini projector should be on top of your “to consider” list. The projector’s size, shape, color, and design give it an elegant look.
Beyond elegance, this projector also has a sturdy body build, enabling it to withstand bruises and brushes outdoors. And its affordable price on Amazon makes it more desirable.
However, we were disappointed by its low brightness level and native resolution. We strongly recommend this projector if your main focus is portability & practicality and you are on a tight budget. Check current pricing by here.
